An anger management therapist has been charged with murder after he allegedly shot a man to death and then stuffed his body in the trunk of his car.

46-year-old Travis McBride is the owner of Starting Point Mental Health in DeLand, Florida. He specializes in anger management, but it seems he may have needed his own anger management classes as he reportedly murdered a man after an ongoing dispute.

According to reports, police received a call about a “suspicious” incident at a home on South Frankfort Avenue. “There’s been a murder that happened,” the caller told police. “We got a couple of eyewitnesses, and I believe … the person right now he’s looking at the road, cleaning up the blood off the ground," they added.

The caller then claimed, “I just saw him drag the body across the road. He put it in his car, and then he left, and then he came back, and not even 10 minutes ago he started scrubbing the road, and now I see him in the yard with a flashlight looking around."

The victim was identified as 51-year-old Clinton Dorsey, who eyewitnesses say was a homeless man who lives in the woods nearby the neighborhood.

An eyewitness spoke to police following the discovery, claiming she saw an incident unfold between the two men after the Florida therapist knocked on her door looking for Dorsey.

After McBride left her home, the eyewitness says she heard arguing while she was sitting in the backyard. She went to go look and see what the commotion was about, which is when she claims she saw McBride and Dorsey arguing on opposite sides of the street. She then heard several gunshots.

According to the police report, obtained by The Daytona Beach News-Journal, "she observed Travis point a gun downwards towards Dorsey, saw the attached light on the weapon turn on and further illuminate Dorsey, and fire several more shots at close range."

The neighbor says she saw Dorsey lying on the ground.

"She then observed Travis dragging Dorsey's lifeless body westbound across the roadway and out of view," the police report adds.

Chief Jason Umberger says, "Preliminarily, we believe there was an ongoing dispute between (McBride) and our victim. I don't know if they knew each other, but they knew of each other," WESH reports.

The police chief confirmed the victim was found in the trunk of McBride's car. An officer "opened the rear hatch trunk door (which was unlocked) in (an) attempt to render aid to the individual, and it was apparent that the male was obviously deceased," the police report states.

Travis McBride was charged with first-degree murder. He is being held in the Volusia County Branch Jail without bond. The 46-year-old anger management therapist appeared at the DeLand Courthouse on Friday, one day after the body was discovered. He did not enter a plea. If convicted, McBride could face the death penalty.

Police are still investigating the incident.
