Angelina Jolie Says Brad Pitt Is Stopping Her From Moving Out Of The Country With Her Kids
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have been going back and forth of the details of their divorce for years and one of those details is about the custody of their kids. In a new interview with Harper's BAZAAR, the actress revealed that Pitt is actually keeping her and her kids in the United States.
"I would love to live abroad and will do so as soon as my children are 18," Jolie told the magazine "Right now I’m having to base where their father chooses to live."

They Share Six Kids
Pitt lives in Los Angeles and has shared custody of their children. Jolie cannot move her kids out of the country, unless she reaches a custody agreement with Pitt, for at least seven years based on the age of their children.The former couple has six children together, Maddox, 18; Pax, 15; Zahara, 14; Shiloh, 13; and twins Knox and Vivienne, 11.
Maddox left the country to attend college at Yonsei University in South Korea and was recently joined by his mother to tour the campus and the dorms. He was born in Cambodia and Jolie eventually became a citizen of the country. She built a house there and told a story about how she found out that she has a pest problem there.
"We got a call the other day informing us that chipmunks have moved into the house," she said when asked is she was planning on returning to Cambodia. "They asked if we should remove them, and Vivienne was very clear that we needed to cover the wires and let them stay. However, the local snakes may have their own opinion on that. The last time I stayed there, I heard screaming down the hall because a friend had found a giant lizard under their pillow. Clearly, the animals are there more than I am and they feel it is their home."
Angie's African Dream
Jolie's career and activist work have allowed her to travel the world and experience many more places than the average person but when she was asked which place was her favorite she described that she is still looking for that special place.
"My favorite place is somewhere I’ve never been," Jolie said. "I like to be dropped into the middle of something new. I enjoy being out of my element. I want the children to grow up in the world—not just learning about it but living it and having friends around the world. Next year we break ground on a home in Africa."
The "Perfect Mom" Stereotype
The interview asked Jolie if she ever feels pressure to live up to the "perfect mother" stereotype and if that ever affects her parental decisions. Jolie responded by saying labeling people "is not freedom" and she does not want that in her life or her family.
"Difference and diversity are what I value most—in my family and in others. I don’t want to live in a world where everyone is the same, and I imagine that’s true for everyone reading this. I want to meet people I’ve never met before and learn things I don’t know. The challenge today is to embrace our differences."
