Angelina Jolie Reported List of Dating Requirements Might Be Scaring Off Potential NYC Dates

Angelina Jolie is on a Kelly Clarkson-type quest in hopes of writing a new chapter for herself by moving permanently from Los Angeles to New York City. While she is still wrapping up her child custody case with ex-husband Brad Pitt on the West Coast, she is spending as much time as possible in Manhattan to explore the fresh dating scene.
“Angelina’s been in New York for most of this year, and her plan is to make a full-time move there as soon as possible because she’s so sick and tired of L.A.,” a source explained to In Touch. “But she must wait until she wraps things up with her ex Brad Pitt as far as custody and visitation rights go — and it’s taking forever.” However, Jolie was declared legally single in 2019, so she is free to date whomever she wants, except that has turned out to be more difficult than she anticipated.

As a producer on the new Broadway show, The Outsiders, the 48-year-old actress thought she might link up with another theater enthusiast — but “nothing has worked out” so far. The insider seems to think they know why Jolie is facing challenges in her dating life, though. “She’s impossibly picky and has all sorts of baggage from the Brad situation. Plus, she’s so paranoid and intense,” they divulged. “It’s very hard for her to let down her guard with anyone. It’s more like she’s interviewing them for a job. And when she does find a guy she likes, she has a long list of rules and NDAs for them to sign, which is not how people roll.”
Who can blame her for wanting to date a man who can keep up with her A-list life? She’s been through enough with Pitt over the years, and she deserves to be treated like a queen. Jolie is finding that the dating scene is “a nightmare,” but “she’s not giving up,” even though “it’s safe to say she’s not enjoying the singles scene in New York.”
There have been rumors that she’s been casually seeing British rapper Akala after the Italian magazine, Oggi, spotted the duo looking cozy in December. The sightings haven’t been that frequent, though, so maybe it was a short-lived romance, or they are keeping a very low profile. Whatever Jolie’s current dating status is, she’s making sure that her next man lives up to her expectations.
