Angelina Jolie is the ultimate diva in the first-look photos of Pablo Larraín's latest biopic about a woman in turmoil.

The photos show Jolie embodying opera singer Maria Callas in the film, which per a release, "is based on true accounts, and tells the tumultuous, beautiful, and tragic story of the life of the world's greatest opera singer, relived and re-imagined during her final days in 1970's Paris." Considered by many to be the original diva, Callas dealt with many personal and professional struggles over the years, and ultimately died at 53 of a heart attack.

In addition to Jolie, the film also stars Pierfrancesco Favino, Alba Rohrwacher, Haluk Bilginer, Kodi Smit-McPhee, and Valeria Golino. The script, which was completed prior to the writers' strike, is penned by Larraín's Spencer collaborator Steven Knight.
