Angel Stadium of Anaheim Puts Up Tyler Skaggs Memorial After Death

In the wake of the horrible tragedy of MLB star Tyler Skaggs' death, Angel Stadium has changed the marquee at the main entrance of the stadium in memory of the fallen pitcher.

Within an hour after news broke that Skaggs was dead, a memorial went up at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, CA. A photo of the young pitcher was shown next to his number and the dates of his birth and death.

So far, the circumstances surrounding his death are unclear, but the Southlake PD in Texas say Skaggs was found unconscious in his room on Monday. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to emergency dispatch audio obtained by The Blast, the initial responders deemed the call a "medical emergency."

In a second call, the dispatcher can be heard categorizing the situation as a "possible death investigation."

The love is already pouring in for Skaggs, as fellow MLB star Bryce Harper just posted a message to his Instagram that read, "by far the nastiest prep I have ever faced. My thoughts and prayers go out to Tyler's family! Gone too soon!RIP."

Skagg's former teammate, Chris Iannetta, also showed his respect by posting to Twitter.

"Truly cannot believe this is real. Thoughts and prayers with his family, the Angels and all my former teammates," he wrote.

MLBPA exec. director Tony Clark released a statement saying, "The fraternity of players is stunned and saddened today by the untimely death of Tyler Skaggs, and we extend our deepest sympathies to Tyler’s wife, Carli, and the rest of his family, teammates and friends."

Skaggs was born in Woodland Hills, CA and was drafted by the Angels in the first round of the 2009 draft out of Santa Monica High School.

Minnesota Twins star Nelson Cruz posted about Skaggs, and wrote, "Sad to hear that another one of our brothers has left us."

He also showed a photo of himself and Skaggs visiting a sick child in the hospital.
