In a new interview with IGN on their Instagram Live, Venom: Let There Be Carnage director Andy Serkis said that Venom and Spider-Man will definitely be meeting somewhere down the line in a future movie.

At around the 11:06 mark of the interview, Serkis is asked when Venom will meet Spider-Man and when he thinks those two universes—the Venom-verse and main MCU universe—are going to collide.

“That’s the question on everyone's lips,” Serkis says. “They want to know when Venom is going to meet Spider-Man. Personally, it’s never going to happen. I’m only joking, of course it’s going to happen. I think there’s so much… it depends on when you want to get there and also what the appetite is. If people want more Venom stories, than to jump straight to Spider-Man you could be missing out on so many great supervillain characters in between now and then.”

Serkis went on to explain how the many different villains in the Venom-verse, like Toxin, other symbiotes, and those locked away in Ravencroft Institute for the Criminally Insane, could be missed if they rushed to bringing Spider-Man in right away.

“But yes, everyone wants to see Venom fight Spider-Man, so I think it’s appetite,” he concluded.
