Andy Cohen isn’t leaving Bravo any time soon, despite reports this morning that the face of the network is currently negotiating his departure from the company.

Reports Related To Cohen Departure Are False

InTouch Weekly first reported the shocking news that the Bravo producer and “Watch What Happens Live” host was negotiating a “departure package” with Bravo amid mounting scrutiny surrounding lawsuits and accusations aimed at Cohen and the network.

“Amid swirling controversy and falling ratings, the 55-year-old Bravo patriarch is in discussions to part ways with the network he helped shape,” the magazine reported. “‘Negotiations for Cohen’s departure package are underway as he grapples with the fallout from mounting accusations by his stars,’ says a source.”

Bravo Accused Of Inappropriate Acts In Lawsuits

The accusations referenced are related to the so-called “reality reckoning” that began gathering steam late last year as former Bravo personality Bethenny Frankel began calling for reality television personalities to have the right to unionize, which led to other former reality stars to speak out about so-called unfair and inappropriate treatment by networks like Bravo.

Frankel told The Cut that Cohen “has been able to sit back and have a Cheshire grin. He’s watching “Gladiator,” watching everyone rip each other apart and being entertained by it.”

“Now she’s out for reality justice,” the article explained. “What Frankel wants to win is a bit murky. Her lawyers have sent a letter to NBCUniversal (Bravo’s parent company) accusing it of ‘a pattern and practice of grotesque and depraved mistreatment of reality stars and crew members’— also calling attention to its strict confidentiality clauses.”

Frankel first appeared on the network as a fresh-faced housewife during season one of “The Real Housewives of New York City” in 2008. She left the show in 2010, returned again in 2015, and then cut ties with the network in 2019.

McSweeney, Manzo, Glanville Add To Bravo Bad Press

Lawsuits by former Bravo personalities followed Frankel’s claims. In February of this year, former RHONY castmember Leah McSweeney filed a lawsuit against Bravo and Cohen accusing “the network and its famous figurehead of using her struggles with alcohol to get more people to watch the reality show intentionally.”

“McSweeney claimed in court papers that Bravo and Cohen knew she was battling alcohol addiction and severe mental health issues when she joined RHONY in 2020 but intentionally created an environment that encouraged her vices.”

McSweeney also accused Cohen of “using cocaine with various Bravo cast members, and claimed he would reward the cast members who participated with ‘favorable’ edits in their respective series.”

Another hit to the network followed McSweeney’s claims, this time from former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Brandi Glanville, accusing Cohen of sexual harassment.

“In a lengthy legal letter sent to NBCUniversal, Warner Bros, and Shed media by her lawyer, Glanville claims Cohen boasted to her about intending to sleep with a Bravo star while ‘thinking’ of her. She said in the letter that Cohen's actions left her feeling ‘disgusted’ and ‘trapped.’”

Glanville’s letter came as she herself was embroiled in a scandal regarding sexual assault accusations towards her from her “The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip” co-star, Caroline Manzo. In January, Manzo filed a lawsuit accusing “Bravo, Peacock and other production and showrunners [of] allegedly encouraging the ‘sexually offensive and harassing content.’”

Manzo alleges that during filming, Glanville “‘proceeded to mount Manzo on the couch, holding Manzo down with her body, forcibly squeezed Manzo’s cheeks together and thrust her tongue in Manzo’s mouth, while humping her.’ The 'Real Housewives of New Jersey' alum also claims Glanville ‘forced her vagina’ against her back.”

Despite all the bad press, it appears Cohen isn’t leaving the network he helped create any time soon. According to TMZ, “A spokesperson for Bravo tells TMZ ... there is absolutely no truth to the rumor Andy's negotiating an exit from the network—and they're shutting down any such notion as patently false.”
