Andrew Plotkin Upped To EVP & Head Of Drama Development At Sony Pictures TV

Sony Pictures TV Studios’ SVP, Drama Development Andrew Plotkin has been promoted to EVP, Drama Development. In the Head Of Drama Development role he is succeeding Lauren Stein who was recently promoted to Head of Creative for SPT Studios. Plotkin, who will continue to report to Stein, will oversee development of scripted drama series for all platforms.

As SVP, Drama Development, a position Plotkin has held since joining SPT in 2017, he has worked on the development of Prime Video’s The Boys and its offshoots as well as on the Spider-man universe, which currently consists of the upcoming series Silk as well as development project Noir, both at Prime Video. Plotkin also has worked closely with PlayStation Productions to adapt PlayStation game titles including God of War for Prime Video and Horizon Zero Dawn for Netflix, and he has shepherded series including Goosebumps, which premiered with 4.2 million total views in its first three days of availability streaming on Hulu and Disney+, the upcoming Dark Matter and Untitled Vince Gilligan Project at Apple TV+, and Cruel Intentions at Prime Video.

Plotkin joined SPT from All In Media, a production company he founded that specialized in packaging IP and developing original ideas. Prior to that, he was the head of television at New Regency Productions and head of development at Syfy. He has also held lead production jobs at CCTV, Class IV Productions, and Warner Bros. Television.
