Anderson Cooper And Andy Cohen To Return For CNN’s New Year’s Eve Special; Sara Sidner and Cari Champion Tapped As Co-Hosts

Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen will return with a CNN New Year’s Eve special from Times Square.

The Dec. 31 special will start at 8 p.m. ET, with Sara Sidner and Cari Champion taking over at 12:30 a.m. from Auditorium Shores in Austin, Texas, to ring in the New Year from the central time zone. Missing this year: Don Lemon who had been a fixture of coverage with his buzzed reports. Lemon was let go from the network in April.

Cooper and Cohen have hosted the event since 2017. Before that, Cooper hosted for 10 years with Kathy Griffin, who was dropped from the broadcast after posting an image of herself with a fake bloodied head of Donald Trump.

Also featured in the coverage: Richard Quest, who will report from the crowds of Times Square; Stephanie Elam, who will be at Atlantis, Paradise Island in the Bahamas; Randi Kaye, who will be in Key West, FL; Gary Tuchman and his daughter Lindsay in Las Cruces, New Mexico; and Boris Sanchez, who will be in Miami, FL.
