Add Amy Sedaris to the list of guest stars stopping by the “Frasier” revival as it returns for a second season on Paramount+. Sedaris is set to appear as Dr. “Doc” Stathos, described as “a municipal therapist with a down home, scattered veneer. She works with the firefighters at Freddy’s firehouse and is also a big, BIG fan of Frasier Crane from his old TV talk show.”

Production on “Frasier” Season 2 is now underway, as it is filmed in front of a studio audience on the Paramount lot in Hollywood. Sedaris is the latest guest to be announced, following news that O.G. “Frasier” star Peri Gilpin (as Roz Doyle) — who appeared as a guest star in the first season finale of the revival — is also now set to make multiple appearances in Season 2 as a recurring guest star.

More from Variety

“Frasier” stars Kelsey Grammer in the title role, as the new series picks up on the famed “Cheers” character as he ends his long-running successful TV talk show and moves to Boston, in the hope of repairing his relationship with his son, Freddy (Jack Cutmore-Scott). He takes a job at Harvard, where he reconnects with his pal Alan (Nicholas Lyndhurst) and begins working for the psychology department run by Olivia (Toks Olagundoye). Jess Salgueiro is Eve, Frasier and Freddy’s neighbor; and Anders Keith as David, Frasier’s nephew.

Chris Harris and Joe Cristalli executive produce with Grammer, Tom Russo and Jordan McMahon. The series is produced by CBS Studios in association with Grammer’s Grammnet NH Productions.

Sedaris, who has been seen recently in “Life and Beth,” “The Mandalorian” and “Girls5eva,” can also be heard on animated series like “Harley Quinn” and “Big City Greens.” She is creator, writer, and star of the Emmy-nominated show “At Home with Amy Sedaris,” and also appeared recently in the films “Theater Camp” and “Somebody That I Used to Know.”

Sedaris first rose to prominance as the co-creator, with Stephen Colbert and Paul Dinello, of the hit cult comedy series “Strangers with Candy.” She has written books including “I Like You: Hospitality Under the Influence” and “Simple Times: Crafts for Poor People.”

Sedaris is repped by UTA and Schreck Rose Dapello Adams Berlin and Dunham.
