Amy Schumer's New Pregnancy Pictures Break All the Rules, & We Love It
When it comes to pregnancy photos, celebrities who choose to strip down tend to go for glamour shots of their naked bellies. Demi Moore famously posed naked and pregnant for Vanity Fair. Beyoncé revealed she was pregnant with twins through a glamorous, naked pregnancy photo. In her own brand of candid, Amy Schumer posed for a series of unconventional pregnancy photos, in which she stripped down and posed during a rainstorm in New Orleans, Louisiana. The photos prove that pregnancy can look glamorous no matter how you photograph it.
Schumer shared the photos, which were shot by photographer Heather Sten for the New York Times, in an Instagram post. She captioned the slideshow, “On a chilly Nola morning it’s best to chase ducks with nothing weighing you down except a baby. Photo by @heathersten for the @nytimes on a rainy night it’s also a good idea. Thank you @zinomanjason for your profile on me. Brutally honest. My favorite kind of honesty. See you in another 10 when you write about me again.”

These photos are yet another example of Schumer’s candor about her first pregnancy, which she’s openly talked about being especially rough. Schumer suffers from hyperemesis gravidarum, a rare disorder that causes severe nausea and vomiting throughout pregnancy. She was forced to cancel her recent comedy tour due to complications with her pregnancy and in her New York Times profile, it’s revealed that her vomiting is something she and husband Chris Fischer have clearly decided to cope with using humor.
At one point during the interview, Schumer apparently vomited into a bag that Fischer handed her while they drove. “That smells bad,” he quipped. She replied, “You want me to go outside?”
In addition to chasing ducks through the rain, Schumer was also photographed holding moss against her naked breasts and posing in a black dress against a woodsy backdrop. These photos are certainly more glamorous than many of the Instagram posts she’s shared of her pregnancy journey so far, but they have her signature brand of humor in them, as well, which we love.
