The actress has hit back at remarks focusing on her appearance during the "Life & Beth" season 2 press tour.

Amy Schumer is hitting back at critics fixating on her appearance amid her press tour for Life & Beth season 2.

After making the TV rounds to promote the Hulu show on Valentine's Day — including Good Morning America and The View — Schumer shared a strongly worded message to her detractors on Friday, condemning remarks made about her physical appearance while she promoted a show she created, wrote, and leads as an actress.

"Thank you so much for everyone’s input about my face! I’ve enjoyed feedback and deliberation about my appearance, as all women do for almost 20 years," the 42-year-old comedian wrote. "And you're right, it is puffier than normal right now. I have endometriosis, an autoimmune disease that every woman should read about. There are some medical and hormonal things going on in my world right now, but I’m okay."

She went on to say that a woman "doesn't need any excuse for her physical appearance and owes no explanation," though she felt compelled to "advocate for self-love and acceptance of the skin you're in" in response to her experience earlier this week.

"Like every other women/person some days I feel confident and good as hell and others I want to put a bag over my head," she concluded. "But I feel strong and beautiful and so proud of this TV show I created. Wrote. Starred in and directed. Maybe, just maybe, we can focus on that for a little."

Schumer also joked about the situation during a Wednesday appearance on GMA when she improvised reading a message on a candy heart. "Bloated," she said as she took the treat from a bowl on the show's set.

Shortly after Life & Beth launched in early 2022, Schumer's romantic dramedy was renewed for a second season, which is now streaming on Hulu and features Michael Cera, Jennifer Coolidge, and Amy Sedaris, among others.
