Explain Yourself, Amy Schumer
In 2016, Schumer was on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" to play the game "Explain This Photo." The comedian shared a picture of the stuffed animals she had when she was a kid.
One of these animals was Pokey. Pokey is a rare hybrid mix of Porky Pig, Mickey Mouse and human baby. Pokey also has a gaping hole in his Victorian-style nightclothes, possibly where his heart used to be.
Once You Meet Pokey, Your Life Is Forever Changed
Schumer has shared a picture of her as a kid with Pokey with the note: "Pokey has been scaring children since 1948."
Schumer seems perfectly happy and well-adjusted in the picture. But Pokey still looks frightening. Maybe it's the black around the eyes, because it seems like there's no earthly purpose for Pokey to have that look. Maybe it's the weird snout. Maybe it's the puffy cheeks - it's difficult to pinpoint where the horror begins and where it ends.
Pray For Tilda
"This one gave me nightmares," Fallon said to Schumer as he shared the picture of Pokey for "Explain This Photo."
In one photo with the stuffed animals, strangely enough, is Tilda Swinton and her boyfriend, Sandro. Schumer explained that Sandro paints stuffed animals for people. Fallon found it hard to believe that these were actually Schumer's childhood toys.
"These are my actual stuffed animals," she told him, adding, "I was never invited to a slumber party." Clearly it was Pokey's fault.
"Those are really my stuffed animals. Isn't that creepy? That's what I wanted as a kid," she told Fallon.
'The Shining,' But With Pokey the Terrifying Doll
"Finally Pokey's getting her, or his, shining moment," she added, confirming that even she doesn't even know Pokey's orientation.
"Pokey is going to be a horror movie next year," Fallon told her. We're still waiting on the trailer.
It's Gene's Problem Now
In May, Amy had her son, Gene Attell Fischer, after enduring several months of constant vomiting from a terrible case of hyperemesis gravidarum.
So it appears that Schumer has given Pokey to Gene, because she posted a picture of the baby (who's apparently behind the heart illustration) with Pokey.
When Gene was born, Schumer spoke with Entertainment Tonight about how being a mother has changed her and given her a new perspective on how much she's capable of loving someone.
"I didn't know I could love someone that much no offense to my husband, who's here. (Her husband is Chris Fischer). But yeah, I think we're both shocked by the level of love that's possible," she said.
Still, she gave Pokey to Gene, so what's really going on here?
