Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes Say Relationships with Each Other's Kids Are 'Evolving': 'Been Very Thoughtful'

The couple already had bonds with each other's kids before their relationship turned romantic

Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes are growing their relationship with each other's families.

During a recent episode of the pair’s Amy and T.J. Podcast on iHeartRadio, the former GMA3: What You Need to Know co-anchors talked about what it's like starting to build their bonds with each other's kids.

A fan asked about the relationships, to which Robach, 50, said, "Evolving is what I would say. We had relationships with each other's kids when we were just friends."

"As tough as it's been for so many people in our lives, it's the most difficult for them because now they're having to look at us in a different way with one another," she continued. "We have been very thoughtful and we've taken things very slowly and we're being very patient. But things are good. They're peaceful, and we want to continue building on that."

Robach shares two daughters, Ava and Annalise, with her ex-husband Tim McIntosh. Holmes, 46, meanwhile, is dad to 10-year-old daughter Sabine with his ex-wife Marilee Fiebig, and also shares daughter Brianna and son Jaiden with first wife Amy Ferson.

Holmes added, "My little one, Sabine, is 10-years-old. She's known Robach since she was 1, and now she knows Robach in a different way in a different role. It's been the greatest."

He said he's been happy to see that Sabine has "voluntarily" wanted to spend time with himself and Robach.

"Last night, she popped in. It was so fun. She was reading our horoscopes," Robach said.

"We were just cutting up. Sabine is doing absolutely great. I'm so proud to see her these days and how she's mature and how she handles so many things," Holmes noted. "It's been one of the most touching things here recently is to see how she's doing and she wants to be a part and included and enjoys time with us."

Holmes and Fiebig filed for divorce in Dec. 2022, shortly after his relationship with Robach was made public. Their divorce was finalized in October.

When news of Holmes and Robach’s workplace romance emerged, Robach had also not confirmed her separation from her actor husband Andrew Shue.

Last month, Holmes and Robach attended iHeartRadio's Jingle Ball in New York City with his daughter Sabine. Their appearance came days after news broke about their ex-spouses, Fiebig and Shue, finding love in the wake of their respective splits.

During the concert, Holmes shared an Instagram video of himself and the pre-teen in the crowd as headliner Olivia Rodrigo sang her hit “Good 4 U.”

“Girl Daddin’ like a motha,” the journalist captioned the clip of the father-daughter duo dancing and singing along.
