Making their red carpet debut was a milestone moment in Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes’ relationship.

And in the latest episode of their new iHeartRadio podcast, Amy & T.J. Podcast, the couple opened up about “proudly” attending iHeartRadio’s Jingle Ball 2023 in Los Angeles earlier this month.

“We flew out to L.A. proudly, didn’t have to duck paparazzi, walked right off that plane holding hands, it was amazing,” said Robach, 50. “It’s funny how the smallest things feel so great and that was one of them.”

“We’re proud stepping off the plane,” added Holmes, 46. “Take our picture!”

“It was no small thing for us,” Holmes continued. Robach then noted, “It was the first time we ever stepped out officially as a couple in front of cameras that we actually knew were going to be there and didn't mind and smile and we had fun.”

“We were just being us,” she continued. “Apparently that means being handsy and a lot of PDA, but you know what? We're in love. We're happy. I don’t know how else to act.”

Robach added that it “felt good to be free of hiding and running and avoiding,” when it comes to their romance.

The former GMA3: What You Need to Know co-anchors flew out to Los Angeles for the music event exactly one year after news of their romance was made public on Nov. 30, 2022.

The pair sported coordinating looks on the evening, with Robach wearing a black leather mini dress and black heeled boots, while Holmes opted for a black blazer and pants with a white button-down shirt.

In the first episode of their podcast earlier this month, the hosts opened up about their relationship for the first time and discussed their exit from the ABC series.

Holmes described herself and her partner as "the folks who lost the jobs we love because we love each other,” and shared how they are planning for their future.

"Bottom line we have not said this. I’m in love with this woman and she’s in love with me and we are planning a life together,” he said.

Meanwhile, Robach confessed that while the couple has been through “a year of hell,” she has “never been happier." She also called her romance with Holmes "the most beautiful relationship I’ve ever had in my life.”

The pair's podcast launched on Dec. 5, exactly one year after ABC News President Kim Godwin put Robach and Holmes on hiatus from their roles as news of their workplace romance surfaced.

"Today is a special day,” Robach said during the launch episode. “It’s almost apropos that we would have this podcast air on December 5th because December 5th last year, exactly one year ago today, was the day we were told not to come into work."

"We never got a follow-up call to say come back," laughed Holmes, while Robach added, "That’s true. It was the opposite.”

At the time, Robach had not confirmed her separation from her actor husband Andrew Shue, nor Holmes from his attorney wife Marilee Fiebig.

And days after Robach and Holmes' red carpet debut, PEOPLE revealed that the couple’s ex-spouses, Shue and Fiebig, had found love together in the wake of their respective splits.
