Amy Robach is claiming her ex-husband Andrew Shue never put a ring on it!

The former GMA3 co-anchor, 51, said that she never received an engagement ring from her ex Shue, 57, before getting married during the latest episode of the Amy & T.J. Podcast, released on Monday, May 20.

While discussing the high cost of engagement rings with her partner T.J. Holmes in the episode, Robach said, “My first one was $3,000, and I didn't even really have one the second time." "My second one didn't exist,” she added in reference to an engagement ring from her second marriage to actor Shue.

However, Robach went on to explain that perhaps not having a ring was a blessing in disguise considering their divorce.

“I also think this is a cautionary tale because we do know that close to 50% of all marriages end in divorce,” Robach continued. “If you think you've got some valuable property in a ring, no matter how much you spent, wait till you have to try to sell that said ring. It is pennies to what you actually purchased. So these beautiful pieces of jewelry don't appreciate. In fact, it's like buying a car. The second you try to sell it after you've purchased it, it goes down significantly in value."

Robach and Shue divorced in March 2023 after 13 years of marriage, per Page Six. The pair separated in August 2022, months before news of Robach’s romance with Holmes, 47, emerged. At the time, Robach had not confirmed her separation from Shue, nor Holmes with his attorney wife Marilee Fiebig. Shue and Fiebig began dating one another following their marriage breakdowns.

On the latest episode of their podcast, Robach and Holmes also shared that they had “discussed” offering promise rings to each other.

“I think any gesture of wanting to be together is beautiful,” Robach said. “And, I think it's a beautiful thing to give or to receive. And it's a promise. And there's nothing legally binding you to that person … we've discussed [and] don't mind that concept at all. To just promise to be together.”

When it comes to marriage though, the pair said they are “on the fence”.

"I wanna marry you. I don't need to. I want to be married to you. And that's such a different thing as we sit here and talk about engagement rings and joint accounts," said Holmes.

"It's interesting having gone through this now, both of us twice," said Robach. "And, I know that can be joke material, but I actually think it's been such hard-earned, God, I mean, just I've learned so much through going through both of those relationships and now being in this one with you."

“We all get caught up in the traditions and in the expectations and in what we think we're supposed to do or what looks like the next thing to do,” she added.
