Amy Poehler and Seth Meyers bring back 'SNL' bit to go after James Comey tweet

On Wednesday’s Late Night With Seth Meyers, Meyers and guest Amy Poehler once again brought back their famous segment, Really!?! With Seth and Amy, made famous on Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update. This time the pair hilariously took issue with a recent tweet from former FBI director, James Comey, after he warned Democrats not to move too far to the left.

Comey, who many blame for the demise of Hillary Clinton after he publicly reopened an investigation into her private email server, which he later declared not worthy of pursuing charges, just days before the 2016 presidential election. Which is why Meyers and Poehler found it comical that he is trying to serve as an advisor to Democrats this time around.Really, James Comey? You want to weigh in on things when there's an election coming up? You feel like that's gone well for you in the past?” Meyers said to open the segment. “That's like Michael Jordan saying, ‘I think I'm going to take another shot at baseball.’”

Meyers and Poehler shared the Weekend Update desk from 2006-2008, and have continued the Really!?! segment through the years on Late Night, including a rant about women's sports that went viral back in 2015. But this time, it was all about Comey and his tweet.“You're worried the Democrats are going move too far to the left? Really?” Poehler said during the segment. “I don't know if you remember, but we were just about to have a nice, boring, moderate Democrat for a president until you decided to open your mouth a week before the election, you big dumb scarecrow.”

Late Night with Seth Meyers airs weeknights at 12:35 a.m. on NBC. Watch clips and full episodes of Late Night With Seth Meyers for free on Yahoo View.
