Amy Adams' Husband Darren Le Gallo Marks 9th Wedding Anniversary with Rare Photo: 'Still My Better Half'

The pair share daughter Aviana, who turns 14 later this month

Amy Adams and her husband Darren Le Gallo are celebrating another year together.

On May 2, Le Gallo, 49, an actor and artist who directed the 2022 film Sam & Kate, shared a photo on Instagram of himself smiling alongside Adams, 49, during a boat outing.

In the caption, he wrote, "9yrs married today, and going on 22yrs together-Still my better half. Happy Anniversary lady."

Jeremy Renner, Adams' costar from the movies Arrival and American Hustle, wrote in the comment section, "Love you guys!! Congratulations."

Back in November 2022, Le Gallo told PEOPLE, "My wife's support has meant everything to me throughout our relationship. She has really good instincts. Our partner's support means a lot to us."

Le Gallo and Adams met over two decades ago in an acting class. She previously recalled the story in a 2008 Vanity Fair interview, admitting "he was a little scared of me" at first.

Eventually, "I got to know him outside of class," Adams said at the time. "I just found him to be such a genuine, caring person. … He demanded that we go out on a date. He said, 'I know you're getting over this [other] guy, but I'm taking you out on Wednesday,' and I was like, 'And so you are!' "

The couple share daughter Aviana, who turns 14 later this month. When Le Gallo celebrated Aviana's birthday last year, he shared a rare photo of her and wrote in the caption, "Happy Birthday to my girl. Cannot believe you're a teenager!! So proud of you."

Back in 2018, Adams told Marie Claire about parenting with her husband. "It's sexy to see him raising a girl and teaching her how a man should treat her in a lovely way," the Sharp Objects star said at the time.
