Amid A "Breakup" Announcement, A Look Back At The Relationship Between Cara Delevingne and Ashley Benson
Cara Delevingne and Ashley Benson have had what you might call a whirlwind romance, having dated for over a year now. They met while starring in the punk rock movie Her Smell in 2018 and have been dating ever since, though they didn't publicly confirm the relationship until this past June.
They've been seemingly inseparable since meeting, and seem to be going strong. However, Cara recently wrote a tweet claiming the couple had broken up, without any explanation and it sent fans into meltdown.

Cara Posted A Breakup Tweet
The British model and actress recently sent out a tweet saying, "Me and Ashley broke up." She didn't post any other details, and the post was only up for 20 minutes before it was deleted, however it was enough to set tongues wagging.
Despite the tweet starting some drama, it appears that it might have simply been a case of hacking. Another tweet said, "GIVING AWAY 1000 IPHONE 11 Pro's and much more since I love you so much."
So, it seems all may be right with the couple still, though neither of them have confirmed this.
They Meet And Engage In A Whole Lot Of PDA
After meeting on the set of Her Smell in 2018, things moved quick between the two stars, with Ashley posting her first Instagram photo of them in May, though it appeared they were just friends, and the photo didn't raise any suspicions.
By the end of the month though, the loved up couple were spotted by fans multiple times engaging in all kinds of PDA, from holding hands to making out at a bar.
Despite not hiding the relationship in public, they still make an effort to keep the details private.
Cara told People in August 2018, "I mean it’s hard, I don’t know, you kind of can’t get away from that if you’re in the public eye. I just kinda try to keep myself as private as possible. That’s one good thing about living in New York — I can live kind of a normal lifestyle. In L.A., the paparazzi are really bad, but here I can kind of just walk anywhere and not be bothered."
They've Been Hacked Before
It appeared they confirmed their relationship in September 2018, with Ashley posting a comment under an Instagram photo of Cara, that simply said, "Mine."
However, Ashley later confirmed her account had been hacked, so apparently the recent hacking is not the first time the couple has dealt with the social media disturbance.
By Christmas, Cara and Ashley headed to London together, and despite rumors of a breakup, they looked to be still going strong, holding hands as they made their way through the airport. It was assumed that Ashley would be meeting Cara's family during the holiday, a huge step in a their relationship.
Things Get Serious For The Couple
In June of this year, Us Weekly reported that the couple had taken another big step in their relationship, by moving in together.
June was a big month for them, as Cara finally publicly spoke about their relationship at the TrevorLIVE Gala, thanking her girlfriend. She said in her speech, "I also have another very special woman in this room to thank and you know who you are. She's one of the people who help me love myself when I needed it most and I really needed it. She showed me what real love is and how to accept it, which is a lot harder than I thought. I love you, Sprinkles."
It looks as if these two are still happily in a relationship and the recent tweet was nothing more than hacking. Cara even made a recent comment on a sexy Instagram picture of Ashley, writing, "tell me about it," in response to another comment.
