American Idol Top 5 Revealed: Who Did Their Moms Proud on Mother's Day?

We can now count the number of remaining American Idol contestants on a single hand. Per viewers’ votes, Sunday’s episode sent two more singers packing, finalizing the Top 5 of Season 20.

But before those results were revealed, the remaining hopefuls — Christian Guardino, Fritz Hager, HunterGirl, Jay, Leah Marlene, Nicolina and Noah Thompson — were each given two more chances to sing for America’s approval.

The first round of songs were all viral TikTok hits, followed by a second round of Mother’s Day tributes. Both Hager and Thompson were diagnosed with COVID-19 and unable to perform live in studio; the show used Hager’s rehearsal recordings, while Thompson sang live from the forced comfort of his hotel room.
