‘American Idol’ Semifinals: Past Stars Sing With Contestants

On Thursday’s American Idol, past stars of the show returned to sing duets with the current crop of contestants. The second group of Top 12 performers tried to keep up with the seasoned veterans.

One of the standout performances was from Olivia Rox and David Cook. Olivia learned that the way to a man’s heart is not through his stomach but through his taste in jewelry. She gave David a bracelet while they were warming up to each other. Then they sang David’s hit “Light On” and impressed the judges.

Perhaps the most impressive performance of the night was shared by Chris Daughtry and Dalton Rapattoni. Dalton was ecstatic to meet Chris, saying that his album was the first that Dalton owned. Dalton even dreamed about singing with Chris one day. That dream came true as the two sang Stevie Wonder’s “Higher Ground.”

American Idol airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8 p.m. on FOX.
