American Idol Finale: Who Will Win Season 22? And Who Should Win?

It may not be the exact Top 3 we envisioned, but Abi Carter, Jack Blocker and Will Moseley will return to the American Idol stage on Sunday (ABC, 8/7c) for one final showdown. And by the end of the live three-hour broadcast, one of them will be crowned the winner of Season 22.

With just over 24 hours left until that winner is revealed, it’s time to ask ourselves two very important questions: Which of these three singers is most likely to win, and which should actually win? Sometimes those answers are the same, but since the outcome rests entirely in the hands of the show’s oft-unpredictable voters, nothing is guaranteed.

Even though there are several singers we’re still bitter about losing ahead of the finale — Julia Gagnon and McKenna Faith Breinholt certainly spring to mind — it’s hard to argue that this Top 3 doesn’t deserve its flowers. Will has sounded like a seasoned country veteran from the moment he opened his mouth; Jack has been a pure charmer from the jump, with plenty of vocal tricks (and faces!) to keep things interesting; and pop-rock queen Abi has never shied away a calculated risk, constantly finding new ways to impress us.

TVLine’s Final Prediction: While we fully believe that Abi deserves her spot in the finale, we see her finishing in third place, leaving Jack and Will to compete for the win. Of the two, Jack would be the more “exciting” winner, and something tells us that the viewers will vote accordingly. We foresee a close vote, but in the end, this is Jack’s finale to lose. In this case, he gets our vote for the finalist who will and should win it all.

How do you feel about Abi, Jack and Will’s chances in Sunday’s American Idol finale? Which of the Top 3 do you think will win, and which should win? Cast your vote in our polls below, then drop a comment with your hopes ahead of Sunday’s grand finale.
