'American Idol' Fans Are Stunned by Katy Perry's Transformation Ahead of Final Episode

Katy Perry is a fashion icon on American Idol, and she often loves to dress up according to the show's theme every week. Well, she did just that for an episode ahead of the season 7 (season 22 overall) finale, deciding to channel one of Disney's most iconic princesses in an unforgettable transformation.

For the ABC series' May 12 episode, viewers witnessed the Top 5 artists celebrate the wonderful world of Disney by performing hit Disney songs. Although Katy was there to judge and give feedback to the contestants, she couldn't help but have a magical moment with the attire she wore for the night.

As folks initially saw her wear a version of Cinderella's pink cleaning outfit from the 1950 film, she shocked everyone with a quick change into the iconic gown and and a version of the glass slippers the character wears to the royal ball. What's more, she added to the entire look by donning a blonde wig to channel Cinderella's hair for the night she met Prince Charming.

When Katy posted a behind-the-scenes look at the outfit transformation on Instagram, she only needed one memorable line to caption the clip. "✨Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo✨🪄."

Naturally, seeing the singer channel the Disney princess had folks raving about it in the comments. "You legend," one person wrote. "You nailed the quick change 😂," another replied. "Oh so gorgeously magical omg! 💙💛👑," a different follower added.

For those curious about the designer behind the outfit, Katy tagged fashion designer Nephi Garcia in the video. Famous for creating a plethora of custom gowns, he couldn't help but voice how thrilled he was to see his creation on live TV.

"Ahh! Freaking out right now!" he captioned a step-by-step video of the design on Instagram on May 12. "Can’t believe I got to create the magic dress with @katyperry tonight on @americanidol!! Thank you sooo much for the opportunity!!!"
