‘American Horror Story’ Reveals Season Six Theme… Or Did They?

American Horror Story has revealed the season six theme! Or have they…? The FX series has released six mysterious online promos for the new season that premieres on September 14th, but the network isn’t revealing which — if any — are indicative of what’s to come.

The promos range from surgical scars in the shapes of a question mark and a number six, to a Rosemary’s Baby homage of a demonic crib, to a glowing-eyed family right out of The Hills Have Eyes. But the promo of a millipede crawling through a woman’s hair has garnered the most interest with over 1.3 million views on YouTube, probably because the woman looks enough like Lady Gaga to get everyone theorizing.

Does that mean it will have anything to do with next season? Probably not, as TMZ was able to get pictures of the set which reveal it’ll be — at least in part — set in colonial times. And this shot of a tree with the word “CROATOAN” carved into the trunk suggests that it’ll be about the lost colony of Roanoke. In 1590, 117 North Carolina colonists disappeared without a trace and with no explanation. “CROATOAN,” the name of a local Native American tribe, was left carved into the tree, although no historian has ever pinpointed exactly why.

So, if we believe TMZ, then this means NONE of these trailers actually reveal anything about Season Six. What we do know for sure is that Lady Gaga, Angela Bassett, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, and Cheyenne Jackson are definitely back. And creator Ryan Murphy publicly invited the rest of the regulars to return, including Kathy Bates, Jessica Lange, and Denis O’Hare.

So, do you think TMZ got it right? Or are you holding out hope for some other theme? Tell us what you think! Hit us up on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or leave your comments below. And check out our host, Khail Anonymous, on Twitter.
