FX's American Crime Story Season 3 to Revolve Around Versace Murder

Another sensational murder case is getting the American Crime Story treatment.

As first reported by Deadline, the third season of Ryan Murphy’s Emmy-winning anthology will center on the July 1997 assassination of legendary designer Gianni Versace on the steps of his Miami Beach mansion by serial killer Andrew Cunanan. One week later, Cunanan would take his own life.

Tentatively titled Versace/Cunanan: American Crime Story, the 10-episode season will be based on the book Vulgar Favors by Vanity Fair writer Maureen Orth.

Season 2 of American Crime Story, which examines the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, will debut in 2017. American Crime Story‘s O.J. Simpson-themed first season cleaned up at the Emmys last month, winning 9 trophies including best limited series.
