‘America’s Got Talent’ Finale: Darci Lynne Farmer Dishes on the Toughest Part of Show

As “America’s Got Talent” heads into its two-part Season 12 finale this week, Darci Lynne Farmer remains one of the finalists still standing. So who will win, and can the 12-year-old fan favorite pull off the victory?

The singing ventriloquist told TheWrap that the most challenging aspect to her remarkable run has been saying goodbye to her fellow contestants.

“The tough part is results because you just become such good friends with everyone, it’s hard to see them leave,” Farmer said. “We’re just all so supportive of each other, and we’ve just become super close, and we’re kind of like family.”

The Oklahoma native said that just before going on stage, she still gets “super duper nervous, like I almost going to puke.” But she has certain techniques to keep herself calm when she’s about to perform.

“I breathe, and I also pray — I pray that things will go well, and I’ll just do my best and go out there and be myself,” she said. “I just tell myself that I’m just going out there to have fun and just to show people my talent, and I dont need to be nervous.”

Which judge has she most enjoyed talking to throughout her run?

“I have to say Howie [Mandel] — he’s so funny,” Farmer said. She then added, “Mel B’s still my favorite judge, though. She’s the best Spice Girl in the world, and she’s drop-dead gorgeous and super kind.”

“America’s Got Talent” airs on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 8/7c on NBC.
