America’s Funniest Home Videos is showing no sign of slowing down.

The series, which is the longest-running primetime entertainment show in the history of ABC, has been renewed for its 35th season.

AFV is hosted by Alfonso Ribeiro, who has led the show since 2015 and season 26. He replaced Tom Bergeron. Other hosts included Bob Saget, John Fugelsang and Daisy Fuentes as well as D.L. Hughley and Richard King, who hosted specials.

The series launched as a special in 1989 before becoming a weekly series in January 1990. Created by Vin Di Bona, based on Japanese variety show Fun TV with Kato-chan and Ken-chan, the series has given away more than $18M in prize money and evaluated over 2 million video clips from home viewers.

Each week, the AFV team evaluates thousands of user-submitted home videos to showcase America’s real-life funny moments captured on video.

AFV is produced by Vin Di Bona Productions, a V10 Entertainment company with Di Bona and Michele Nasraway as exec producers.

It is the latest unscripted renewal at ABC; last week, the network renewed series including American Idol, The Bachelor, Dancing with the Stars, Celebrity Wheel of Fortune, Celebrity Jeopardy!, Shark Tank and What Would You Do?. Earlier this month, it also renewed Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, Claim To Fame and Press Your Luck and gave Extreme Makeover: Home Edition a series order.

Vin Di Bona said, “Knowing the show has brought laughter and joy to families since 1989 fills me with immense satisfaction. It is with great pride and honor to celebrate AFV’s 35 year relationship with ABC alongside AFVs talented and dedicated staff, many of whom have worked together for 25 to 35 years.”

Rob Mills, EVP, Unscripted and Alternative Entertainment, Walt Disney Television, said, “To be able to celebrate a landmark 35th season of AFV is nothing short of a privilege. The success of this series is a true testament to Vin di Bona and his team, who have made groin-hits, cat and dog fails, and embarrassing moments a staple of American culture.”
