America Ferrera, Eva Longoria, Greta Lee and Yara Shahidi are among those whose work will be celebrated at the 2023 Women in Film Honors.

A total of six honorees — including screenwriter and producer Linda Yvette Chávez and director, playwright and screenwriter Celine Song — were announced as the recipients of the annual awards on Thursday.

“The work of this year’s honorees exemplifies outstanding creative vision and the change WIF has worked to create in its 50 years as an organization. Our industry is better because of these women and their commitment to spurring lasting impact in Hollywood, both in front of and behind the scenes,” said Monica Levinson and Talitha Watkins, co-chairs of the WIF Honors Committee.

Longoria and Chávez will receive the Crystal Award for Advocacy for their collaboration on Flamin’ Hot, while Lee and Song will also be awarded with the Crystal Award for Advocacy for their collaborative work on Past Lives. Both duos are slated to appear in conversation as part of the event. The Crystal Award for Advocacy honors outstanding individuals and groups of women generating increased opportunities for the advancement of women throughout the screen industries.

Ferrera is set to receive the Jane Fonda Humanitarian Award, which will be presented in-person by Fonda, who selected this year’s awardee. The actress and producer is being presented with the honor her longtime activism and work with Poderistas, the non-profit she co-launched with other activists to inform, affirm and inspire Latinas.

As previously announced, Shahidi will be honored as the WIF Max Mara Face of the Future Award for her acting and producing work, fight for inclusivity and equity, and embodiment of style and grace.

“This year’s honorees show the strength and power of collaboration, inclusion and how uplifting stories that have gone untold for too long make this industry better,” said Kirsten Schaffer, CEO of WIF, in a statement. “With our industry in a moment of upheaval, which too often disproportionately impacts women and people of color, we need these women leading the way now more than ever, as we continue to fight for gender equity. WIF is grateful to shine a light on these formidable honorees as we celebrate our 50th anniversary.”

The 2023 WIF Honors annual benefit, which supports the group’s educational, philanthropic and advocacy work, will be held Nov. 30 in Los Angeles, and will coincide with the organization’s 50th anniversary of fighting for gender equity in Hollywood.

WIF worked with SAG-AFTRA to ensure the event adheres to strike guidelines and is sensitive to striking workers, their unions and their allies.
