AMBUSH® Launches SS23 Pre-Collection, Inspired by Yoon Ahn's Home

AMBUSH® just released a look into its forthcoming Spring/Summer 2023 pre-collection, drawing inspiration from creative director Yoon Ahn's home in Tokyo.

Taking cues from Shibuya's eclectic rave scene, the collection acts as a melting pot of cultures, inspired by the evolution that Tokyo has undergone over the last few years. In signature Ahn design, the collection is mostly made up of unisex and oversized styles, including track jackets with matching pants, mechanical shirts and graphic long sleeves.

Fusing Ahn's vibrant color palette with the aesthetics of workwear and athleisure, the collection offers striking hues of "acid brights" in the form of neon green, bright pink and blue, toned down with pared-back accents of black and khaki. Continuing Ahn's exploration of silhouettes and shapes, this season's nylon pants arrive looser and wider, while the classic Motorcycle jacket is reimagined in denim. Described as a "mixtape" in the brand's press release, SS23 offers a look at the future of fashion, as opposing fashion styles and music tastes continue to merge.

Elsewhere, the collection reintroduces the brand's signature heart motif, revitalized through cut-out T-shirts and vests and used as a fastener for knits, cardigans and dresses. Jewelry within the collection is made in Japan, offering '90s-inspired ball chain chokers alongside heart-shaped padlocks, pill pendants and safety pin earrings reimagined in neon and oil-spill hues.

Finally, SS23 is home to a selection of bondage leather bags, arriving in pink, black and denim, as well as the soft Nejiri clutch bag, reimagined in green, black and pink. The AMBUSH® "A" is also transformed into the silver chain Tri evening bag, alongside a selection of crossbody, carry-all and waist bag styles.
