Amber Heard Beams as She's Serenaded by a Mariachi Band in Madrid for Her Birthday: See the Fun Photos

Amber Heard shared a rare photo to Instagram to mark her 38th birthday. "Champagne kind of birthday," she wrote in a caption

Amber Heard received quite the surprise for her birthday!

Heard was seen holding a package that appeared to be a birthday present as she received a serenade from a mariachi band in Madrid for her 38th birthday, which she celebrated on April 22. Photos from the birthday performance show two guitar players and a trumpeter on a sidewalk playing, with Heard seen smiling.

The Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom actress marked the occasion with a photo she shared to Instagram on April 23. The picture showed her sipping from a glass while sitting in what appeared to be a wine cellar.

"Champagne kind of birthday," Heard wrote in a caption to that post.

Heard, whose daughter Oonagh Paige celebrated her third birthday on April 8, last shared a photo to the social media platform in January, when she posted a few behind-the-scenes photos from filming the most recent Aquaman movie. "After all this time, Aquaman 2 made its splash (sorry, it’s too easy)," she wrote in that post. "Thank you to all of my fans for the overwhelming support and love in Mera’s AQ return. Thank you so much."

The actress now lives in Spain's capital city, two years removed from her defamation trial with her ex-husband Johnny Depp. PEOPLE previously reported on Heard's life abroad, with a source saying the actress felt she "just had to get out of the U.S." after the highly publicized 2022 court battle.

Heard, who initially moved to the island Mallorca before settling in Madrid with her daughter, was seen answering questions from local Spanish reporters in a viral June 2023 video.  "I love Spain so much," she said in Spanish, adding, "Yes, I hope so. Yes, I love living here," when reporters asked if she intended to stay in the country.

The actress made a rare public appearance at the Taormina Film Festival in Sicily in June 2023 to support her movie In the Fire.

Back in October, Heard's In the Fire director Conor Allyn told PEOPLE that she is "living her best life in Spain with her daughter and just finding happiness in that way."
