Amazon's Big Style Sale 2020: What to buy, what to skip

It’s here! Amazon’s Big Style Sale just launched, and the savings are absolutely scrumptious.

While we know you want to hit the ground running and score the best deals, hold your horses: Sales this good (and this huge) require a bit of strategy, so we checked in with fashion and lifestyle expert Anna de Souza on her tips to getting the best deals.

For starters, she suggests skipping the bikinis and sarongs, and instead, opting for those spring dresses you missed out on wearing this year.

“The best deals may lie in seasonal merchandise,” she shares with Yahoo Life. “COVID-19 restrictions coincided with fashion’s spring/summer 2020 season, so even if you won’t get as much wear from a spring frock this season, shop timeless styles you can put front-and-center in your closet for next year.”

With the launch of Amazon’s Big Style Sale, there’s never been a better time to consider a Prime membership. Even though the sales are available to both Prime and non-Prime members, you’ll be saving much more than a few dollars by subscribing — you’ll be saving your time.

“This is a good opportunity for consumers to capitalize from Prime shipping to receive their gear in a timely manner,” she advises. “Many clothing retailers are still functioning with skeletal warehouse teams, oftentimes delaying processing and shipping by two to three weeks.”

Anna strongly recommends using the sale as an excuse to stock up on basics that you live in but always neglect to repurchase — sound familiar?

“Score deals on basics!” she stresses. “Scour through your closets and drawers. Are your white tees looking dingy? Have your workout leggings seen better days? Are your socks pilling? Make a list and save cash now, instead of impulse buying necessary everyday garments piecemeal weeks from now.”

If your particular sartorial sore spot are white tees, you’re in luck.
