Derek Williams (L) and Karishma Cordero (R) perform the Roadblock on 'The Amazing Race 36' Episode 5

The Amazing Race 36's first leg in Chile proved to be one of the hardest ones yet. Despite going back to self-driving, teams struggled to navigate through the city, which brought out a good amount of bickering between partners. And while one team rolled on with yet another big comeback, another wiped out, eliminating them from the race.

Kishori Turner and Karishma Cordero – Cousins

Kishori and Karishma came onto the race to fully embrace the attitude of living life to the fullest, after Karishma tragically lost both of her parents in the same year. The two were one of the most entertaining teams on the race, consistently in a state of panic as they navigated the back of the pack through a series of mistakes. Their last one came when a misread of the Roadblock prompt had Karishma struggling through a building challenge. Her issues put them in last place, something that was cemented further as Kishori struggled with a climb up a former cement structure.

Which teams finished at the top tonight?

It was a threepeat for Ricky Rotandi and César Aldrete, who recovered from navigational issues to bang out yet another first place. Juan Villa and Shane Bilek had their highest finish of the race in second, zooming to the top after finishing in the middle of the pack up to this points. Amber Craven and Vinny Cagungun finished in third, putting forward a solid performance amongst some still-existing tension.

Which teams finished at the bottom tonight?

Derek and Shelisa Williams continued to backslide. Despite their navigational issues, they were able to do well enough to stay far out of elimination, finishing second-to-last. And it was yet another comeback for Sunny Pulver and Bizzy Smith. After they fell to last place as soon as the leg started, Bizzy's mechanical prowess came into play at the Roadblock, where they passed two teams to once again avoid going home.
