SEE ‘The Amazing Race’s’ Alexandra and Sheridan: Our biggest mistake was ‘unquestionably the Detour choice’ [WATCH]

9:30 p.m. — Previously, on “The Amazing Race”! In the Season 35 premiere, the Emmy Award-winning reality competition began its milestone 35th season at the iconic Hollywood Sign, celebrating the famous landmark’s 100th anniversary. Teams headed to Bangkok, Thailand, and after a series of Roadblocks and Detours, the oldest team of Jocelyn & Victor finished first, while siblings Alexandra & Sheridan were eliminated in 13th place. Let’s begin Leg 2!

9:35 p.m. — As the winners of the last leg of the race, Jocelyn & Victor will be the first team to depart, heading to Nakhon Pathom by taxi, just outside the city. There they’ll seek out Wat Suwannaram, one of 40,000 temples found in Thailand, for their next clue. The remaining teams will head out in the order they finished Leg 1.

9:45 p.m. — Jocelyn & Victor hold their lead and reach the Road Block first. In “Who Has a Green Thumb?,” teams must become lotus farmers, trudging through the catfish-filled waters to collect enough leaves to make two bundles. Each bundle must be comprised of 10 bulbs of similar size wrapped together in leaves in a 3-4-3 configuration, held together with bamboo ties. Jocelyn heads out handle this one for the married entrepreneurs as other teams approach the Road Block as well. Jocelyn is familiar with these bouquets because Buddha is important to Victor’s family and these flowers are often used as an offering. She says, “I’m going to nail this,” and jumps in the water. Meanwhile, brothers Greg & John lost 30-40 minutes by going to the wrong location. How much will this impact their race?

10:00 p.m. — As Jocelyn puts together her bouquet, Rob & Corey, Morgan & Lena and Todd & Ashlie arrive. Greg & John are next, and they’ve only gone from third place to fifth after that little mishap in the taxi. Jocelyn presents her bouquets for the first time and gets rejected. She’s back out in the waters for new bulbs. After many more failed attempts, Jocelyn says she’s “embarrassing the family.” Finally, on her 12th attempt, Jocelyn finishes the task and keeps her and Victor in first place. Rob & Corey are next. They’ll travel by taxi to Wat Rai Khing and find a marked elephant to receive their next clue.

10:15 p.m. — Near the back of the pack, Liam & Yeremi make the same mistake Greg & John did earlier. Unfortunately, they didn’t have a lead on as many teams heading into this leg. It’s basically a 30-minute penalty and this could have a huge impact on their race. Meanwhile, Jocelyn & Victor have reached the Detour in first place. They must choose to complete one of two tasks. In “Stock Up,” teams will pick up a shopping list for a restaurant using baskets and a hand cart. Once the order has been filled and delivered to the restaurant, they can exchange the goods for their next clue. In “Scoop Up,” teams will load a boat full of fruit (pomelos), return to the dock and unload them. When the farmers’ baskets are full, they’ll reward the racers with a clue. Jocelyn & Victor choose “Stock Up,” while Rob & Corey arrive second and choose “Scoop Up.” At the back of the pack, Liam & Yeremi’s taxi mishap dropped them from eighth place to 11th, so they have less room for error but they’re not in last.

10:30 p.m. — Jocelyn & Victor get their ingredient list. Their ability to understand the Thai language is a massive advantage here, in fact, Victor says they sell many of these items in their grocery store at home. They definitely chose the right Detour for them. If I’ve learned anything it’s that it definitely pays to be bilingual on “The Amazing Race,” because you never know where it will take you. Jocelyn & Victor sail through their shopping list and receive the clue to the next Pit Stop at Suan Sampran. Over at “Scoop Up,” Rob & Corey finish their Detour and are also in the race for first place.

10:45 p.m. — Jocelyn & Victor reach the Pit Stop and have won their second leg in a row! They win $2,000 each. Rob & Corey are second as the other teams continue this race. See the complete list of results at the bottom of this blog. Back at the Detour, Greg & John take one look at the river and only see one pomelo. They almost switch tasks, but then see a goldmine around the corner. They decide to stick with it and fill their boat with pomelos. Meanwhile, there are still five teams that haven’t even finished the Road Block. As more teams reach the Detour, everyone so far has chosen “Scoop Up” until Todd & Ashlie arrive and choose to go shopping. With no understanding of the Thai language, this could be a make-or-break for the married high school sweethearts.

11:00 p.m. — The first six teams to finish this leg are in the exact same order as last week. Struggling now at the back of the pack are Robbin & Chelsea, who are last to finish the Road Block. After 16 attempts Robbin finally finishes and the race is on. Todd & Ashlie didn’t have as much trouble shopping as I thought they would, and actually had fun connecting with locals. All remaining teams are now at the Detour, just hoping to keep their races alive. The last three teams to arrive are Andrea & Malaina (“Stock Up”), Elizabeth & Iliana (“Stock Up”) and Robbin & Chelsea (“Scoop Up”). Andrea & Malaina finish shopping before Elizabeth & Iliana, so it now the mother/daughter duo is facing off with Robbin & Chelsea for last place. It’s a close finish, but Elizabeth & Iliana finish in last place and are eliminated from the race.
