Amari Cooper: 'I want to be a Dallas Cowboy for life'

With free agency kicking off in under two weeks, a lot of questions still surround the Dallas Cowboys. Both star quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receiver Amari Cooper remain unsigned, and given the impending collective bargaining agreement vote, the team may not have a transition and franchise tag available to use on both players.
On Thursday, however, Cooper, during an appearance on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas, put the pressure squarely on Jones and Co. to make sure the standout remains a member of the team.
“I love being a Dallas Cowboy. I love everything about it. I think about it every day,” Cooper said. “Just the aura of being a Dallas Cowboy, you can't beat it. I want to be a Dallas Cowboy for life.”
As you can imagine, no team in the NFL wants to let talented players, especially ones who embrace the club they play for, walk out the door. With that being said, the Cowboys are in a difficult situation in trying to sign both Prescott and Cooper prior to Mar. 18.
Cooper was acquired by the Cowboys in October of 2018 in exchange for a 2019 first-round pick. In 25 games with Dallas, the 25-year-old has hauled in 132 receptions, 1,914 yards and 14 touchdowns while averaging 9.8 yards per target.
