Nothing mends a broken heart like finding someone else to love — just ask Amanda Seyfried and Thomas Sadoski. Seyfried, who split from longtime boyfriend Justin Long in September, and Sadoski, who announced his divorce from Kimberly Hope (his wife of eight years) in October, packed on the PDA during an afternoon date in sunny Los Angeles on Wednesday.

But they weren’t alone! The lovebirds were accompanied by Seyfried’s tricolor border collie, Finn. The first stop was a bite at Hollywood hot spot Cheebo, where the couple seemed to spend far more time making out than actually eating. (Finn waited patiently at the foot of the table.)

The 30-year-old Ted 2 star enjoyed an iced coffee in between stroking Sadoski’s scruffy face and leaning in for a passionate kiss. Though they both sported sunglasses, there was no hiding their affection for one another.

From there, they headed to the dog park, where Finn was rewarded for his patience with some playtime off the leash. The 39-year-old Newsroom star was clearly trying to bond with Seyfried’s (other) best friend as he threw sticks for Finn to chase.

Last year, Seyfried and Sadoski co-starred in the off-Broadway play The Way We Get By, in which they played two people who had a one-night stand after getting drunk at a wedding reception and then struggled to put the pieces together when they both sobered up. Now their professional paths have crossed yet again, as they are both filming The Last Word.

Last May, Seyfried gushed about her relationship with Long, which began after she was amused by something on his Instagram page. “I thought something he said was really funny,” she told Vogue. “It was a beautiful picture of a snail, and the caption said, ‘F—ing MOOOOOOOOVE.’ It made me laugh out loud, so I texted him.” For his part, Long had insisted they were “in it for the long haul” during an appearance on the Today show in 2014.

Seyfried also admitted, however, “Making movies is two solid months of 12, 14-hour days. I mean, it can ruin your relationship.” Maybe it’s easier when you and your beau are working on the same movie?
