Nick Cordero's Broadway co-star is raising money to help wife Amanda Kloots, baby Elvis

As actor Nick Cordero fights for his life, one of his Broadway co-stars is offering a way to help his family and help protect others from coronavirus.

Ted Brunetti, who appeared alongside Cordero in "A Bronx Tale," teamed up with his brother Joseph, a designer for Crocs, Tommy Hilfiger and more, to offer what they call the "world's only virus protection kit," which includes hand sanitizer, masks, alcohol wipes and gloves.

They are donating a portion of the proceeds from each kit to Cordero; his wife, Amanda Kloots; and their 10-month-old son, Elvis; as well as other coronavirus relief causes.

A Tony Award nominee, Cordero ("Bullets Over Broadway," "Waitress") has been hospitalized and unconscious in the ICU for over a month. He had his right leg amputated and a pacemaker placed due to complications from coronavirus. Just days ago, Kloots, who has been posting regular updates on Cordero's condition through Instagram, said that doctors reported he was showing "very early" signs of waking up.

Kloots, continues to offer a detailed look at the Broadway star's emotionally taxing battle with coronavirus.

She shared a photo on Instagram Friday of the couple holding their baby in what she described as their "last family photo before Nick got sick."

Kloots said Cordero, 41, was generally healthy and had no existing health conditions. They don't know how he contracted COVID-19, but he became sick in late March.

"He went to the ER on March 30th and intubated on a ventilator on April 1," Kloots wrote, as she recounted Cordero's harrowing struggles: A resuscitation after an infection caused his heart to stop, two "mini strokes" and a leg amputation.

She listed more treatments: "An MRI to further investigate brain damage, several bronchial sweeps to clear out his lungs, a (sepsis) infection causing septic shock, a fungus in his lungs, holes in his lungs, a tracheostomy, blood clots, low blood count and platelet levels, and a temporary pacemaker to assist his heart."

Kloots shared that Cordero has spent almost 40 days in the ICU, and urged others to stay home because coronavirus can affect anyone, not just "old people."

"This journey with Nick has been the hardest thing we’ve ever had to go through. I ask God for a miracle and my Dad reminded me that God is answering my prayer everyday because he is still with us!" Kloots wrote. "Nick is a fighter and has not given up."

She ended her post by thanking the health care workers at Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles.

Since Cordero's hospitalization, Kloots has been keeping followers updated on her husband's health journey.

In an emotional update to her Instagram stories Wednesday, Kloots said she received a call from Cordero's doctor, who saidher husband was showing "very early" signs of waking up.

"The doctor just called and said that Nick is showing very, very, very, early, early, early stages of tracking, which means he's starting to wake up, which is huge," Kloots said through tears. "Early, early, early signs, but basically he's opened his eyes, but nothing's been behind it and now he's slowly starting to show signs."
