Amanda Batula on the “Quiet Support” She’s Receiving Amid Her Fertility Journey

The Summer House cast went through some growing pains during Season 7.

While Danielle Olivera and Lindsay Hubbard went through a friendship breakup and the latter cast member also celebrated her engagement to Carl Radke on the seventh season, Amanda Batula and husband Kyle Cooke experienced some concerns regarding their plans to start a family one day.

During a recent chat with Glamour, Amanda opened up about where she stands in her fertility journey today (and how she feels about publicly discussing it), if she’s thinking about having a baby soon, and where she wants to take her and Kyle’s company, Loverboy, next.

Amanda’s Fertility Journey

As Amanda revealed on Episode 3 of Summer House Season 7, she hadn’t had her period since the previous fall after she decided to go off birth control. Though an at-home fertility test that she took with castmates Ciara Miller and Paige DeSorbo seemed to confirm that nothing was amiss, Amanda was worried because she still had “no idea what the f-ck [was] going on.” Then, on Episode 13, Amanda confirmed that she had met with a doctor and discovered an issue with low estrogen.

She spoke with Glamour about what it was like to open up about her fertility on the show, and about sharing the experience with Ciara and Paige through their at-home tests.

“We’re all going through something with our menstruation journey… It’s interesting to have three different women from three different backgrounds… and none of us are the same,” Amanda said.

She also noted that she’s had a lot of people reaching out to her via Instagram DMs. What’s more, “I have private support, I have quiet support, and I’m OK with that,” she added.

When Amanda and Kyle Plan to Have Kids

Though Amanda and Kyle discussed the idea of becoming parents throughout Season 7, the spouses aren’t ready to expand their brood (which currently consists of dogs Reese and Ryder).

“We’re both not ready to have kids,” Amanda told Glamour. Instead, at the moment, the two are focused on the growth of Loverboy.

Amanda’s Career Goals

Amanda, who is on the creative and branding side of Loverboy, noted that she and Kyle would like to expand the canned alcohol company and merchandise line into a full lifestyle brand in the future.
