Chandi Moore, transgender activist, health educator for Children’s Hospital and co-star of the E! network docuseries I Am Cait, offers advice to Hope, a 22-year-old transgender woman who is estranged from her family and admits to escorting to support herself.

“Hope, you have sat here and have blamed everybody but yourself for the things that you’re dealing with in your life,” Chandi says. “You knew that you were able to get some resources established for yourself as well. But what did you do? You found friends, you left your resources to go run with your friends. How can you get your life on track when you’re running around the wrong crowd? You’ve got to change your circle, Mama. You can’t hang around those people who aren’t going the places that you’re trying to go.”
