Alyssa Milano says 'blackface scandal' is a hoax: 'F*** yourselves with your smear campaign'

Alyssa Milano has responded to accusations that she posed in blackface years ago, saying it’s a “smear campaign” of misinformation. She said the image in question is of her portraying Jersey Shore star Snooki and that she’s “never done” blackface.

The 47-year-old actress and activist shared a screenshot of an article posted on the conservative website LifeZette titled “Alyssa Milano Facing Backlash Over ‘Blackface Scandal’ After Damning Photo Comes Back to Haunt Her.” The story featured a split image of Milano, whose skin appears much darker in one picture.

She explained that the photo, which had been circulating on social media for days, is from an old “Funny or Die” skit.

“Hey, a**holes. The below picture is me parodying Jersey Shore and Snookie’s [sic] tan. Snookie’s tan (she is a sweetheart by the way) is worthy of parodying as is Trump’s ‘tan,’” Milano tweeted on Tuesday. “So go f*** yourselves with your smear campaign.” She included a link to the 2013 video.

On Monday, Milano — who is an outspoken critic of President Trump — ruffled feathers when she tweeted that “cancel culture is being weaponized” by Republicans and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“Take notice of who they are targeting & what is trending. Are they trying to hurt Trump’s most vocal critics? Yup. The misinformation campaign has begun,” she wrote.

The Charmed star was then flooded with screenshots of her as Snooki. Milano posted a follow-up message on Tuesday, writing that the replies to her tweet “are proving my point. Thank you.”

She clarified, “I’ve never done, nor would I ever do blackface.”
