Alyson Hannigan is revealing her thoughts after making it into the Dancing with the Stars finale.

Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE on Tuesday at week 10’s DWTS semifinals, the actress revealed her surprise when she and dance partner Sasha Farber were announced as having made it to the finals.

“I thought Alfonso [Ribeiro] made a mistake,” Hannigan, 49, tells PEOPLE of the show's co-host. “I thought he meant to say Ariana [Madix] and he said my name first and I just was waiting for him to correct himself and then I couldn't believe it."

"I was totally shocked," she adds.

“That's every show day,” says Farber, 39.

Tuesday night saw co-hosts Ribeiro, 52, and Julianne Hough announce that all couples in the semifinals had made it into the season finale, including Vanderpump Rules star Madix, 38, and Pasha Pashkov, plus Marvel actress Xochitl Gomez and Val Chmerkovskiy.

Rounding out the final five are Bachelorette star Charity Lawson and Artem Chigvintsev, as well as singer Jason Mraz and Daniella Karagach.
