Alyson Hannigan’s ‘Midlife Crisis’ Includes a Seriously Colorful & Dramatic Hair Transformation

Alyson Hannigan has been known for her fiery red hair for decades now, from playing the iconic Willow in Buffy the Vampire Slayer to Lily Aldrin in How I Met Your Mother. Her red hair has been a staple in her image forever, but now, she’s shaken things up in the most unexpected, colorful way with a new hairdo.
On March 24, Hannigan shared a few photos of her shocking, ultra-colorful hair transformation to her Instagram. She shared the photos with the caption reading, “Hello midlife crisis, I think I like you 😂.”

In the photos, we see Hannigan looking oh-so-gorgeous with bare-faced selfies showing off her new hair transformation: her new, bright, hot pink locks. That’s right, the beloved redhead officially has pink hair, and it looks so stunning on her (and we’re not the only ones who think so)!
Hannigan’s former Buffy co-star Sarah Michelle Gellar commented under the photos, lovingly saying, “Here for it!!!” Fans also commented things like “Yes! Pink for the win!” and “HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOVE THE HAIR😂.”
For her 50th birthday, she treated herself to new hair, and we seriously love this personal celebration. And happy belated birthday, Hannigan!
In a previous interview with UPI, she talked about how her new philosophy in life is not to hold back from things due to a fear of failure. “I didn’t want to keep not trying things because I was afraid to fail,” she said, which is perfect when trying new thing like a whole new look.
