Before the couple headed to the altar, Hannigan's mother advised that she not rush into marriage.

"My mom, Emilie [Posner], always taught me to think hard about marriage ... she said: 'Take your time,'" the How I Met Your Mother alum told The Sun. "I took my mom's advice and thought really hard about the whole thing — and didn't marry until I was nearly 30."

Sharing what's kept their relationship strong after all these years, Hannigan previously told YourTango: "We're best friends. He's my partner and I wouldn't want to do it with anybody else."
