New Alsace, an Alsatian settlement in Southeast Indiana

Sep. 29—LAWRENCEBURG — The Dearborn Highlands Arts Council invites the public to spend an afternoon with Dr. Don Heinrich Tolzmann on his lecture on New Alsace, An Alsatian Settlement in Southeast Indiana. Saturday, Oct. 7, at 2 p.m. in the Ewbank Room at Lawrenceburg Public Library, 150 Mary Street, Lawrenceburg.

Dr. Tolzmann is the author and editor of numerous books on German-American history and culture. He has received many awards, including the National Award of Merit (Bundesverdienstkreuz) of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Ohioana Humanities Book Award, the Distinguished German-American of the Year Award, the Outstanding Achievement Award of the Society for German-American Studies, and is listed in Who's Who in America.

He served as curator of the German-Americana Collection and Director of German-American Studies at the University of Cincinnati and is well known as "Mr. German-Americana."

Dr. Tolzmann is the retired Director of the German-American Studies program at the University of Cincinnati and is the former Curator of the German-American Collection at the University of Cincinnati Libraries.
