Allied Artists of Schuylkill County announce winners of 60th judged art exhibit

Aug. 13—The Allied Artists of Schuylkill County announced the winners of its 60th judged art exhibit held July 22-29 at the Main Gallery at the Walk In Art Center in Schuylkill Haven.

Winners were chosen from submissions in four categories: photography; art under glass; art not under glass; and other media, such as sculptures, fabric and 3D art.

Works were judged by Yvonne Wright and Seven J. White, with each category receiving $100 for first place, $75 for second place and $50 for third place, with two honorable mentions receiving ribbons.

This year's winners are:

—Category I — Not Under Glass; first place, Sue Wagner, "The Old Willow"; second place, Mary Luby, "Violet"; third place, Amanda D'Agostino, "Morning Flow Study"; and honorable mentions, Mary Ann Mengel, "Reflection" and Gwen Leuschner, "Forest Primevil."

—Category II — Under Glass; first place, Damon Davis, "Discord and Flutterbat"; second place, Kathy Connelly, "The Gardner"; third place, Jim Abicunas, "Papa"; and honorable mentions, Marky Barto, "Lynette" and Sharon Readinger, "Reflecting Cherries."

—Category III — Photography; first place, Tindy Roberts, "Industrial Lens"; second place, Amber Fink, "Victorian Roses"; third place, Patricia Falco, "London Calling"; and honorable mentions, Angie Purcell, "Milky Way Over Cape May" and Jesse Oney, "On The Farm."

—Category 4 — Other Media; first place, Marky Barto, "Lavender Field"; second place, Kathy Connelly, "Floating Whimsey"; third place, Norma Hirsch, "Never Forget"; and honorable mentions, Bob McCormick, "A Visit to Mrs. Toole" and Peter Cieslukowski, "Sama."
