Alisson and Firmino point finger at Van Dijk for Leicester goal
Liverpool may have maintained their 100 per cent record with a 2-1 win at Leicester on Saturday, but it was a nervous finish after a gaffe handed the Foxes a lifeline.
Sadio Mane and Robert Firmino gave the Reds a 2-0 half-time lead before Rachid Ghezzal pulled one back in the 63rd minute.
Ghezzal’s goal came after huge error from Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson.

But after the match Alisson and Firmino both gave interviews to ESPN Brasil and were happy to single out Virgil Van Dijk for the error that led to the Leicester goal.
Alisson told ESPN: “It was a mistake. I did not get a pass so good, we talked about it in the locker room, I talked to Virg (Van Dijk), it was not such a good pass, but I was also totally able to kick the ball away.
“Of course, I will not be stupid to make the same mistake. We have to learn from the mistakes, but it’s part of my game. I will not be arrogant to say ‘I’ll keep doing (dribbles)’, we have to learn from mistakes. If necessary, the dribble will be my last resort.
Firmino then also supported the Brazilian number one, saying: “The pass (from Van Dijk) was not all that either. Alisson tried to fix it, but unfortunately it went wrong. He has made an excellent start (to life at Liverpool).”
