Alisha Wainwright has broken her Instagram silence to announce that her Netflix show 'Raising Dion' has been renewed for a second season as reported by PopCulture. On the show, she plays the mother of a child that has telekinetic powers that arose after the passing of his father. Wainwright dived deep into this dramatic role and is looking forward to returning to it for a second season. Wainwright is posting for the first time since she was involved with the Justin Timberlake cheating scandal.
"💜Season 2 of #RaisingDion on the way💜," Wainwright captioned the Instagram video featuring Senegalese painter Bou Bou painting her character and her son.
"Brilliant! So happy for you queen, the first season was amazing and I can’t wait to see how the story develops ☺," one supportive fan commented.
"Congratulations @alishawainwright ❤❤❤ So proud of you!!!!!! 😍😍😍" another wrote.
"The best news to start a new year! Can't wait babe ❤️," a third fan added.
"YESSSS OMG BLESS!! So hyped for it gimme gimme gimme 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾," one fan cheered.
Wainwright has become the center of media attention after she was caught getting extra friendly with Justin Timberlake after a 'Palmer' cast outing. A video sent into The Sun captured Timberlake and Wainwright holding hands. At one moment, Timberlake even puts his hand on her thigh. Timberlake has since made a public apology to his wife Jessica Biel and son. Biel has recently hinted that she's not over the incident and making him work hard to earn her trust back.
However, Wainwright's rep claims that there was nothing behind her interaction with Timberlake. "There is no validity to this speculation," Wainwright's rep told PEOPLE. "They are currently working on a project together. Members of the cast and crew were all together.”
Wainwright sat down with BlackFilm to discuss 'Raising Dion.'
"I think a lot of things make Raising Dion special. Primarily, you’ve never seen a kid young, who is this young and black, with superpowers, in a TV show," she told the publication.
"And then also the fact that you’re getting a superhero story through the eyes of a single mother. In these superhero stories, parents and family are often kind of either not a part of the story, or they don’t know about what’s going on. I think it’s a unique perspective to have a young mother kind of watching her kids grow up with these extra ordinary abilities," Wainwright continued.
Wainwright has made another post since announcing the renewal of her posing in the snow.
