It’s no secret that Tom DeLonge has a fascination with alien stories, and this fall, he’s bringing his own to the big screen. The Blink-182 member has announced that feature-length directorial debut Monsters of California will premiere in theaters October 6th, and along with the news, the sci-fi romp also has a new trailer.

Monsters of California centers around a group of high school friends, one being Dallas Edwards (Jack Samson), who’s discovered that his late father was a government agent working on some intriguing covert intergalactic research. Naturally, he and his friends then “embark on a righteous and dangerous adventure to uncover a paranormal conspiracy in Southern California that brings them face-to-face with some of the government’s most guarded mysteries.”

It’s tough to convince federal officials that UFOs are real when your two main hobbies are skateboarding and smoking weed, but the trailer indicates that Dallas and his friends are adamant on finishing what his dad started — and, yes, an eerie, a capella version of Blink-182’s “Aliens Exist” is prominently featured in the background. Speaking of, DeLonge also produced the film’s score, and co-wrote its screenplay along with Ian Miller and Ben Kull.

Monsters of California also stars Richard Kind, Casper Van Dien, Camille Kostek, Richard Kind, and Arianne Zucker. See the new trailer for ahead of its October 6th premiere below.

Meanwhile, DeLonge and his Blink-182 bandmates are in the midst of a world tour, and you can get tickets to all of their upcoming concerts here.
