Alicia Vikander rarely talks about her private life, but she wants fans to know that she's never been happier.
The 29-year-old actress -- who covers the March issue of Vogue -- secretly married Michael Fassbender this past October in Ibiza, Spain, and so far, life as a wife is really working for her.
"I feel I’m more happy and content than I’ve ever been," she tells the fashion magazine.
Vikander met Fassbender, 40, when the two played a married couple in The Light Between Oceans, and while she's not too keen on sharing much about her real-life romance with the two-time Oscar nominee, she does sing his praises as an actor.
"I think he’s one of the absolute best actors I’ve worked with," she muses. "Of course he’d done more films than me, but immediately when we started to work together he was so open to wanting me to chip in new ideas and thoughts. He would be like, ‘I’m stuck; what should I do?’ and I would say, ‘You’re asking me?’ That was such a sweet thing."
Vikander adds, "Life is about a lot more than work, but if it’s also your biggest passion, of course it’s something you enjoy talking about."
As for whether she and Fassbender would ever work together again now that they're married, she expertly responds that if the right project comes along, of course!
Vikander is currently promoting her Tomb Raider, where she will be taking on the lead role of Lara Croft, a character that was portrayed by Angelina Jolie in past films. "She hasn’t found her footing in the world just yet," Vikander describes Croft in the upcoming movie. "The film is really her discovery of herself."
Tomb Raider hits theaters on March 16. In the meantime, here's a look at Vikander and Fassbender's romantic getaway in Ibiza just months before the two tied the knot in the scenic city.
