Grammy host Alicia Keys gets love from husband Swizz Beatz on her 39th birthday: 'I’ve never seen a light shine so bright'
One day before her hosting gig at the 62nd Grammy Awards, Alicia Keys is celebrating her 39th birthday, with husband Kasseem “Swizz Beatz” Dean praising his “amazing wife” on Instagram.
In an infectiously happy video set to “Forget Me Nots” by Patrice Rushen, the “Underdog” singer dances while dressed in a silver dress and headpiece. “I’ve never seen a light shine so bright,” the producer captioned his Saturday post.
Beatz then posted a slideshow of his wife driving a vintage-looking car. “Happy Birthday to the Goddess,” he wrote. “Keep driving the world crazy with your effortless talent, love & positive energy...we love you baby.”
Keys and Beatz have been married since 2010 and have two sons together, Egypt, 9, and Genesis, 5.
In his Instagram Stories, Beatz also showed how Keys is celebrating her birthday — by rehearsing for the Grammys, of course. “Damn working on the b-day,” he wrote.
Keys herself also made mention of her “BIG weekend!!” posting a video on Instagram of herself goofing off with friend and internet celebrity Liza Koshy.
Keys is hosting Sunday night’s Grammys amid sexual harassment and voting corruption allegations that plague the organization. The singer, who has won 15 Grammys (making her the second most awarded artist after Paul Simon), is hosting for the second time. She hosted the 2019 ceremony as well.
According to Newsweek, Keys is the fifth female host and the first woman of color to secure the gig twice.
