Alexis Eddy, Contestant on MTV’s ‘Are You the One?,’ Dies at 23

Alexis Eddy, a contestant on MTV dating show “Are You the One?” in 2017, has died, West Virginia police confirmed for TheWrap. She was 23.

Cops say they responded to a call about a female in cardiac arrest at 7 a.m. local time this morning. An investigation is ongoing, an officer told us.

“MTV is deeply saddened to hear about the tragic loss of Alexis Eddy,” an MTV spokesperson told TheWrap. “Our hearts go out to her family and friends during this difficult time.”

During Eddy’s season of “Are You The One,” the reality star revealed that her cousin is convicted murderer Shelia Eddy, who stabbed her high school friend Skylar Neese to death with help from another friend, Rachel Shoaf, according to ABC News. Eddy is currently serving a life sentence in prison with the possibility of parole after 15 years, while Shoaf is serving a 30 year sentence.

Eddy, a West Virginia native, became a fan-favorite on Season 6 of the reality dating series, where she looked for love amongst 22 other single people in New Orleans. One memorable moment of her season was a love triangle between Keith and Joe, though she ended up with Anthony at the end of the season, according to MTV.
